When Problems Don’t Stay Solved
Leaders are often vexed by problems that keep reemerging. They are vexing, frustrating and draw down creative energy.
The reemergence of problems may result from a variety of factors, like missing a root cause or trying a solution that doesn’t work.
However, there is another, more challenging reason: Leaders are trying to solve something that cannot be ultimately solved.
These are problems that involve balancing two opposing good values, such as quality and innovation, or focusing on results and growing relationships.
These are “polarities,” not problems. Polarities can only be managed, not resolved. They require an entirely different approach.
In this gathering we’ll explore the polarities we are all living in, including the Covid vaccine controversy.
Facilitated by Eric Svaren, a member of the Dent Coaching Stable, these informal gatherings are open to all Denters who have an interest in leadership: we welcome practiced managers as well as those just getting their feet wet in the art of motivating others to tackle tough challenges.
